CHARITY OPPORTUNITY

Published on 2/20/2020
Members, I am sharing this from the AAPL newsletter
If you are unable to attend the convention but would like to contribute, please contact me at hylandabstracting@hotmail.com and I will be happy to bring your contribution to the Annual meeting in June.
Hello All,

In conjunction with the AAPL Annual Meeting at Huntington Beach, California, the Annual Meeting Committee wants to add an opportunity to contribute to a worthwhile charity in the local area. We have selected Working Wardrobes whose mission is this: "We do everything in our power to help men, women, young adults and veterans overcome difficult challenges so they can achieve the dignity of work, and thePower of a Paycheck."
We have been working with this organization to coordinate logistics of holding a clothing drive for professional work attire at our conference. The vision is that all of our attendees will be able to contribute at least one set of professional clothing and/or make a monetary donation. Hopefully our suitcases leave California lighter than when they arrived!

This effort has become now become even more critical than we could have ever anticipated. From their website: "On Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at 5:50 a.m., a fire broke out at the Working Wardrobes headquarters located at 1851 Kettering Street, Irvine, California. It was several hours before firefighters could access the building. Unfortunately, everything has been destroyed by this fire and we are absolutely devastated."
As you plan to join us in Huntington Beach this summer for the Annual Meeting, please keep in mind this incredible opportunity and be looking out for the details we will share later on how to make an in-kind or monetary donation.
